Shakespeare Boulangerie & Patisserie

I've passed by this shop many times when fetching my brother from Taylors but never actually visited it. One rainy afternoon, after my first drive to TheCurve and also my first drive under a very VERY heavy rain, my friends and I decided to try this place out.

The exterior of the shop reminds me of those stereotypical romantic french restaurants you find in movies. Plus, with Instagram, it's looks more romantic!

Surprisingly, when we entered the shop, we were greeted by "Irrashaimase ( いっらしゃいませ)" instead of "welcome".

The first thought on my mind when the waiters greeted us in Japanese, "OMGOMGOMG! A JAPANESE PASTRY & DESSERT SHOP! IT'S LIKE FROM THE ANIME YUMEIRO PATISSERIE!!" Unfortunately, the waiters look nothing like Kashino or Henri or Johnny...

On the bright side, the pastries and desserts here looks delicious!

They have a wide variety of pastries and buns. I bought Mentaiko French Loaf (RM6.00) just cause it's my first time seeing this here in Malaysia. The buns here has the same price range as the famous RT Pastry House nearby.

Let's see, what else do they have: salads, sandwiches and also MANY SPARKLY-MOUTH-WATERING-HEAVEN-IN-A-CUP-DESSERTS...

They also sell chocolate truffles! Honestly, this is my first time seeing a bakery/pastry shop in Malaysia that sells chocolate truffles.

They also have a rainbow of calories! Sweet-looking calories!

The nice Japanese baker (must be the head chef or something) offered us a free Strawberry Macaroon each! I guess he was happy to see three sampat young girls getting excited over everything in his shop.

The Strawberry macaroon (RM3.60) is a little to sweet for my liking; though, I would like to try the chocolate-flavoured ones on my next visit.

This particular dessert caught my eye. I knew I had to get this.

I shall call it the Dragonball of Desserts a.k.a DOD.
Actual name: Strawberry Yogurt (RM7.90)

The ball has three layers: Strawberry jelly coating the strawberry yogurt flavoured mousse, and in its core is the normal yogurt flavoured mousse. Below it is a nice fluffy lemon flavoured cake.

My friend had Mango Shortcake (RM7.50). Quoting her words, "OMG THERE ARE SO MANY LAYERS IN THIS CUP!"

Everything in this cup is made of mango: the cream, the cake and even the pudding!

Profit Roll (RM7.50)
I don't know why the hell it is named Profit Roll. I don't feel any richer after eating this.

Regardless, among the three, this is my favourite! The cream puffs on the top are not dry and are filled with a generous amount of custard cream (i think).

The chocolate cream below the cream puffs has got to be the most chocolatey cream I'd ever tasted! It tasted bittersweet, not sugary sweet. Below the bittersweet chocolate cream is a layer of chocolate chip chocolate cake!

Absolutely Heaven!

We ordered two cups of peach tea too cause we were still cold from the rain. Quite satisfied that they are not using some cheap Teh Boh tea bags.

Overall, I am very happy with this place. The desserts is awesome, the ambience is soothing (Kenny G and his sexyphone saxophone), the service is good and the price to get this sort of quality food is quite cheap, plus, no tax (bestthingever)!

Currently, they are having a promotion where until the 28th February 2013, you get 20% off in your total bill.

Next time, I am going to try their pasta!
